What you are booking

Casa Awaya Taormina is always let as a whole: every bedroom, the living room and both terraces are for your group alone. We do not let individual rooms and we never host two separate groups at once. The property is registered under CIN IT083097C2GJOZWS6R.

How many people

The standard rate covers up to 6 guests. Maximum capacity is 7 guests, children included: a supplement of €50 per night applies for the seventh. The number of guests declared at booking must match the number of people actually staying; if it changes, tell us before arrival. The minimum stay is 3 nights, all year round.

Rates, taxes and what is included

The price is made up of the nightly rate, which changes with the season, the cleaning service at €150 per stay, always included in the price, with daily housekeeping, and the Taormina city tax of €3 per guest per night for a maximum of ten nights; children up to 3 are exempt. Stays of at least 7 nights receive a 10% discount on the accommodation element only, which does not apply to cleaning, supplements or taxes. Linen and towels are included.

Payment

A booking request is not confirmed automatically: we check availability and details first, and the booking is confirmed only after approval. When you send the request, your card details are entered in a form provided by our payment provider and the card is authorised, not charged: the deposit amount is held but not taken. The deposit, 50% of the total, is collected only once the request is approved. If we cannot host you, the authorisation lapses within seven days and you pay nothing. The remaining 50% is charged automatically to the same card 15 days before check-in. If the booking is made 15 days or fewer before arrival, the full amount is payable straight away. The booking is confirmed once the deposit is paid.

Cancellation

Cancellation is free up to 30 days before the arrival date and gives a full refund of anything already paid. From the 29th to the 16th day before arrival, 50% of the total is retained — the deposit already paid — and the balance is not requested. From 15 days before arrival no refund applies to amounts already paid. In the case of a no-show without prior notice, the full amount is charged.

Arrival and departure

Check-in is between 15:00 and 22:00, check-out by 10:00. We ask you to let us know your expected arrival time in advance, by email or WhatsApp: arrival instructions are sent to you together with the booking confirmation. When the house is free, early check-in and late check-out are arranged free of charge; we cannot guarantee them without explicit confirmation from us.

The house

The house is on two floors and has no lift: the bedrooms and the upper terrace are reached by stairs. The entrance and the patio are shared with the home of our housekeeper, who lives on the ground floor. There is no pool and no private parking space; on request and subject to availability we can offer a place in a private garage at €30 per day for a car and €40 for a small van.

We ask you to treat the house as you would your own: parties and events are not allowed, smoking indoors is prohibited, and we ask for respect for the neighbours at night and prompt notice of any accidental damage. Pets are welcome at no extra charge: just tell us when you book.

Liability and governing law

We are not liable for personal belongings left unattended or for disruption caused by force majeure. The agreement is governed by Italian law; the court of Messina has jurisdiction. For consumers, the court of their place of residence or domicile remains competent.

Documents and tax paperwork

Identity documents for every guest are required for the stay, as Italian law provides: we tell you how to send them once the booking is confirmed. On request we issue a receipt or, where applicable, an invoice; in that case we will ask you for the details we need.

Closing period

The house is closed from 11 to 31 January inclusive. During that period bookings cannot be made and the dates do not appear as available in the calendar.
